Entertainment Policy
Concerning Performing Arts Schools and Dance Schools

The Heritage Foundation of Franklin and Williamson County invites performing arts schools to apply to perform at the Main Street Festival (last weekend in April), Pumpkinfest (Saturday before Halloween) and Dickens of a Christmas (second weekend in December).
The entertainment policy for for-profit performing arts schools is a $100 per hour stage fee paid in advance at the time of booking to the Heritage Foundation. The Heritage Foundation will provide the sound system, sound technician, microphones if needed, stage, chairs for the audience, and, when possible, an area for performers to change clothes. The fee is refundable up to 30 days prior to the event, but not after that date, and not due to weather conditions. All festivals occur rain or shine, all infrastructure for the performance will be in place rain or shine, but performances may be cancelled if the audience or performers would be at risk in severe weather.
Performances are generally scheduled in one-hour increments.
To schedule a dance school or performing arts performance, contact Nancy Williams, nwilliams@historicfranklin.com, or call 615-591-8500 ext. 17.

Bands and other performers:
Application to the Main Street Festival is open to all groups regardless of size, style, age, race, or religion.  Please take into consideration that this is a family event when you are choosing your attire and material to perform.  Also, since this event happens in a historic downtown neighborhood that volume is also always to be taken into consideration and will be enforced.  Please realize that if you are applying from an out of town location that this festival does not pay hotel or transportation costs.  To be considered for a performance slot, with the application below also please submit the following:

1) A picture of the group or individual
2) A CD or DVD that is representative of your group’s performance.
3) A location and time of local performance so that your group may be observed by somebody on the selection committee.
          or
4) A web site that includes current photos or video and sound clips of the group.
5) A location and time of local performance that your group may be observed by somebody on the selection committee.

Note:  If Zia Music already has received the above information in the last 2 years, then please only submit the application below.

Each stage will have a backline consisting of 1 bass amp, 1 guitar amp, 1 drum set (minus cymbals) and a complete sound system with engineer.  If you wish, you may bring any of your own gear, but realize that there is a minimal amount of setup time between each act and that any additional setup time will take away from your performance time.  You will be able to pull into the back of the stage to unload gear, but then you’ll have to park your vehicle in one of the parking garages located on either 2nd Avenue South or 4th Avenue South as per instructions from the fire marshal.  You may also be able to find parking on one of the surrounding streets outside of the festival.  This festival happens rain or shine. If the rain stops and there is still a reasonable amount of time left for set up and performance, be prepared to play.  If it looks like things won’t clear up before the end of your performance you can leave.  If you have CD’s or any other merchandise, you are allowed to sell them from the stage or after your performance.  100% of your merchandise sales are yours.
If you are a band or performer and wish to be involved in the Franklin Main Street Festival please complete all the sections below.  By filling out this form you are expressing a wish to be involved in the festival.  This does not guarantee you a slot on the festival.

NOTE: All materials submitted become the property of Zia Music Production, LLC and will not be returned but will be kept on file to be used for consideration for future festivals and events.
